Academic Research Paper
In one sentence
Peer-reviewed research published in IEEE Access on integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into recommender systems to address the cold-start problem and improve personalisation.
What I did
Extended my MSc thesis into a full research publication by conducting a systematic review of 55 studies (2018–2025) on LLM-enhanced recommender systems. Contributed to the problem definition, literature review, and development of a taxonomy covering embedding-based, prompt-based, fine-tuned, and agent-oriented integration methods. Collaborated with academic co-authors to refine the structure, analysis, and overall contribution of the paper.
Outcome
Published in IEEE Access (Open Access) and available on IEEE Xplore. The research provides a structured framework for integrating LLMs into recommender systems, with practical relevance for applications in e-commerce, healthcare, and content platforms.
